With his silken, smoky voice, Niles Thomas was up for a GRAMMY® Nomination for “Best Jazz Vocal Album” in 2022 for his collaborative release entitled “It’s A Crossover Thang” with long-time friend and Grammy® Award Winning trumpeter, Bijon Watson.
Recognized as a Alternative Jazz artist re-imagining and crafting his own unique lane in contemporary Jazz of today, Niles Thomas infuses a spectrum of modern influences with his smooth vibe’n, soulful and wistful Jazz&B sound.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Niles moved to Las Vegas in 2016 – or as he calls it, “The International Spaceport”, in search of new inspiration – and found just that. In addition to being an established singer/songwriter, Niles stretches his talents in photography, a sketch artist, canvas artist, and in digital design –  an artist through-and-through. "I'd go mad if I only had one creative outlet", explains Thomas. "I'm very lucky to be a music artist, but I also feel extremely fortunate to have the natural ability to delve into and explore other art mediums that help the flow of inspiration for me."
Niles was previously signed under contract with Warner Chappell Music and EMI Music respectively as a songwriter. His music has been licensed in film and television throughout Europe, Asia and America, including shows on HBO, NBC, TBS, Discovery Channel and Showtime, to name a few.
As a performing artist, Niles Thomas’ distinctive style has been a passport to sharing the stage with many great Jazz artists including, 2X GRAMMY Winner Bob Mintzer of the Yellowjackets, 2X GRAMMY Winner John Clayton, GRAMMY Nominee Jeff Hamilton, GRAMMY Nominee Anthony Wilson, GRAMMY Award-Winner John Beasley’s Monk’estra, 5X GRAMMY Winner Billy Childs, GRAMMY Winner Bill Cunliffe, 3X GRAMMY Winner John Daversa, to name a few, and has toured the globe performing on stages worldwide.
In 2017, Niles Thomas and Bijon Watson co-founded and co-produce the popular Jazz Republic Concert Series that occurs regularly at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, and are co-hosts of their radio show called "B-Side Morning Brew with Bij & Niles" broadcasted on KUNV 91.5FM Jazz & More in Las Vegas, and is also the co-founder of the Jazz Republic Performing Arts Foundation.
